itSMF Fusion 2010
Friday, September 24, 2010 at 4:11AM Louisville, Kentucky was buzzing and it was only partly the parties and bourbon to blame. From the mayor of Louisville pronouncing itSMF day in the city to the wildly active social stream you knew this was the start of something different.
I was humbled by the presentation of the itSMF USA Presidents award; I saw industry luminaries and finally got my podcast cohosts all in one room at one time. The rise of Matt Beran as Service Desk Manager dot next was probably the most exciting moment.
Stevie Chambers on Twitter wanted to know if anything actually got done here. The old mantra in ITSM is People, Process and tools. Well I can tell you absolutely no servers were constructed they had moved to the cloud. No processes were defined they were on the back burner. The only thing that happend here were the people.
People here connected, learned and grew. Two of the largest ITSM membership organization on the planet announced joint conferences for the next two years, (You can find the FAQ PDF download here). Some might say a bunch of IT geeks who learned how to speak to each other isn’t a big deal and that’s not a lot to accomplish. I’ve been around for a while now and I have to say more got done this week with a few hugs than got done all year.
